BERLIN - The successor to Paul, the famous World Cup octopus who died last month, moved into his psychic predecessor’s aquarium in the German town of Oberhausen Wednesday.

Paul II, who is five months old and measures 30 centimetres, was lowered into his new home in a clay pot.

He immediately explored his new surroundings, familiar to television viewers around the world who watched Paul correctly predict eight games during this year’s football World Cup.

It remains to be seen whether Paul II develops the same psychic abilities of his namesake, whose death was mourned the world over a week previously.
