Emmitt Smith Joins Hall Of Fame

CANTON (GaeaTimes.com)- On Saturday night amidst the bunch of players who were inducted into the prestigious Pro Football Hall of Fame was Emmitt Smith, the man who had made Dallas Cowboys team proud with his running back efforts and touchdowns. Emmitt Smith was inducted in the Hall of Fame for his record as a career rusher. The running back player was inducted into the Hall of Fame in the very first year of his eligibility. A teary Emmitt Smith went to the shrine with his Dallas Cowboys teammates Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin and thanked his family, especially his father and all other people who have directly or indirectly played a role in his success as a footballer.

However, the Hall of Fame recognition for Emmitt Smith has not come easily as the player had to constantly come forward with his best play to become eligible for induction. Emmitt Smith made the Dallas Cowboys team proud by winning three Super Bowls during the 1990s. He was the part of the famous “Triplets” that consisted of Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin who played a major role in bringing success for the team. On Saturday he joined the list of top runner with his 18,355 yards run and 164 touchdowns.

In his induction speech, Emmitt Smith paid tribute to Walton Payton. The former NFL player said that it is a great honor to be in a podium that was once shared by Walton Payton. He praised Walton Payton as a person who always an overachiever. Emmitt Smith also remembered his father and his struggle as a child. A tearful Emmitt Smith said that unlike many others, he not only had a dream but also did all he could to achieve it.
