Sioux Falls atop NAIA poll
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Two-time defending national champion Sioux Falls sits atop the preseason NAIA football coaches poll.
The Cougars received 11 of the 15 first-place votes. Lindenwood (Mo.), which is ranked second, got three first-place votes. Carroll College (Mont.) is ranked No. 3, followed by Saint Xavier (Ill.) and Morningside (Iowa).
The rest of the top 10: MidAmerica Nazarene University (Kan.), Lambuth University (Tenn.), McKendree University (Ill.), Ottawa University (Kan.) and Missouri Valley College.
Sioux Falls is riding a school record 29-game winning streak. The Cougars open the season Sept. 4 against Northwestern of Iowa.
