Darkwa rushes Tulane past SE Louisiana 27-21
NEW ORLEANS — Freshman Orleans Darkwa rushed for three touchdowns, the last after a fourth-quarter turnover, to lead Tulane to a 27-21 win Thursday night over Southeastern Louisiana.
Darkwa’s last score came on a 6-yard run with 11:15 left to play after Justin Adams’ fumble recovery at the Southeastern Louisiana 7.
Darkwa also scored on a 3-yard run to finish a 16-play, 75-yard drive on the Green Wave’s first possession, and added another in the second quarter.
Following Casey Robottom’s 14-yard punt return to the Lions’ 27, Green Wave quarterback Ryan Griffin completed a 10-yard screen pass to Cody Sparks to the 17. Darkwa had a 9-yard run, then scored on an 8-yard run.
Southeastern Louisiana quarterback Tyler Beatty was 17-for-34 for 201 yards and three touchdowns. Kory Theodore had scoring catches of 23 and 41 yards, and Sim Yarborough scored on a 29-yard pass.
