Langston turnovers help Alcorn St. to 50-27 win
LORMAN, Miss. — Alcorn State returned three turnovers for touchdowns and broke open a game that was close for a half to defeat Langston 50-27 Saturday in their season-opening game.
Alcorn State, from the Southwestern Athletic Conference, had interception returns for touchdowns from Jamison Smith, who picked off two passes, and Josh Cragin. Stephen Howard also returned a fumble recovery for a score against the Lions of the NAIA.
The Braves led just 20-12 at halftime.
