Division II Assumption upsets Wagner 24-7
WORCESTER, Mass. — Andrew Kupec threw for two touchdowns in Assumption’s 24-7 upset of Wagner on Saturday night.
Kupec, who had 205 yards on 18-for-24 passing, connected on both his touchdowns during a 24-point unanswered streak by the Division II Greyhounds (2-0).
With Assumption trailing 3-0, Kupec threw a 24-yard TD pass to Marcus Nichols late in the first quarter.
The Greyhounds then scored 17 in the second quarter, including an 18-yard TD pass from Kupec to Herb Woodward.
Brian Nowak followed with a 28-yard field goal and Woodward scored his second TD of the game on a 48-yard run with 3:28 left in the half.
Woodward finished with 106 yards on 15 carries.
Nick Doscher had 209 yards and a touchdown on 20-for-36 passing. He also had 33 yards rushing on 15 carries for the Seahawks, who lost their third straight season opener.
