Stony Brook runs past American International 31-14
STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Brock Jackolski and Miguel Maysonet combined for 325 yards as Stony Brook ran past American International 31-14 on Saturday night.
Jackolski finished with 167 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries and Maysonet had 158 yards and one TD on 20 carries.
The two helped the Seawolves (1-1) pull away after the Yellow Jackets (0-2) got within 10-7 in the second quarter.
Jackolski scored on an 11-yard run and added another TD on a 17-yard run for a 24-7 lead midway through the third quarter. Maysonet continued the Seawolves’ scoring surge on a 48-yard TD run shortly into the fourth quarter.
While Stony Brook’s running game was consistent, averaging 7.2 yards per carry, the Yellow Jackets struggled to move the ball converting just 3 of 11 third downs.
Rob Parent had 196 yards and two touchdowns on 17-for-30 passing for the Yellow Jackets.
