SE Louisiana beats Tennessee-Martin 24-10

HAMMOND, La. — Southeastern Louisiana had four interceptions, including one for a touchdown by Tommy Connors, in a 24-10 win over Tennessee-Martin on Saturday night.

The Lions (1-1) gave up 525 yards of offense, but five Skyhawks’ turnovers, including a fumble, helped them win the first meeting between the schools since 1981.

Southeastern Louisiana opened up a 17-0 lead thanks to big runs by Zeke Jones and Sam Fairley, who had 108 rushing yards apiece.

Jones, who had 17 carries, opened the scoring on a 39-yard touchdown run. Fairley then ran one of his 15 carries for a 26-yard score in the second quarter. Seth Sebastian capped the first-half scoring on a 37-yard field goal for a 17-0 Lions’ lead.

The Skyhawks (0-2) were paced by Derek Carr with 390 yards and four interceptions on 20-of-41 passing. Jason McNair had 132 yards on 24 carries for Tennessee-Martin.
