PHILADELPHIA (GaeaTimes.com) — What seemed to be a promising year for NFL veteran Leonard Weaver, suddenly turned into his worst nightmare. In a game against Green Bay Packers, Leonard suffered an awful leg injury during the second quarter.
Last Sunday, during the Philadelphia Eagle’s opener against Green Bay packers, Nick Barnett and B.J.Raji hit Weaver during a short run up. As both the player were heavier than Leonard, he toppled, causing his leg to buckle beneath him. When the play was shown on the stadium scoreboard, the sellout crowd at Lincoln Financial Field groaned loudly at the gruesome sight.
At first, Eagles declared that Weaver has sustained a minor leg sprain. But in the night ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed that Weaver is believed to have a torn ACL.
This incident has surely raised a question mark over Leonard’s carrier in NFL. He is sure to miss this seasons game at least. Let us hope that he will make an early comeback before next season’s game.
