At No. 3, Boise State is nobody’s underdog anymore

BOISE, Idaho — Go anywhere in Idaho’s capital city these days, and the love for Boise State is plain to see.

People are wearing all manner of Broncos gear. Cars and houses are decked out in blue and orange. Signs are posted outside businesses congratulating the team for its victory over Virginia Tech, and wishing it luck the rest of the season. But Broncomania has spread well beyond Boise.

The school best known for its funky blue turf just a few years ago has the best record in college football since 1997, and a 15-game winning streak that’s second-longest in the country. And now, sitting in the third spot of the AP Top 25, the Broncos might just be the team that breaks the BCS once and for all.

The Broncos play Wyoming this Saturday.
