NIU coach out of hospital, with team
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — A Northern Illinois University spokeswoman says head football coach Jerry Kill is expected to attend Saturday’s game at Illinois after being hospitalized this week.
Spokeswoman Donna Turner on Friday said Kill was released from Northwestern Memorial Hospital late Thursday. She says he attended a team walk-through Friday afternoon and was headed to Champaign with the team.
Kill had been hospitalized since last weekend after he became dehydrated during the Huskies’ win over North Dakota. NIU officials say Kill’s illness isn’t related to a past bout with kidney cancer.
