Rocker leads Florida A&M to 50-7 win over Howard
WASHINGTON — Eddie Rocker rushed for two touchdowns and caught a 78-yard scoring pass and Florida A&M capitalized on Howard mistakes in a 50-7 win Saturday.
The Rattlers (2-1, 2-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) scored four touchdowns after an interception, a fumble and two blocked punts.
Curtis Holcomb’s interception set up FAMU’s first score, Lavante Page’s 3-yard run.
Martin Ukpai’s 78-yard bomb to Rocker made it 14-0, then Howard (0-3, 0-2) freshman Justin Duncan had a 59-yard run to set up his first career touchdown, a 2-yard burst. He finished with a career-high 102 yards.
After Florida A&M cornerback Qier Hall returned a Howard fumble 30 yards, the Rattlers blocked a punt to set up a Page 4-yard touchdown.
Rocker scored on rushes of 4 and 18 yards to make it 40-7. Mike Ducree recovered a blocked punt in the end zone to close out the scoring.
