Kupec throws for 279 yards and 2 TDs as Assumption comes back to beat Fordham 30-24

Assumption edges out Fordham 30-24
NEW YORK — Andrew Kupec threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns, leading Assumption to a late go-ahead score in a 30-24 victory over Fordham on Saturday.
Trailing 24-20 in the fourth quarter, Kupec led the Greyhounds (4-0) on a 12-play, 69-yard drive that ended with a 4-yard touchdown pass to Marcus Nichols with 5:41 left to take a three-point lead.
Brian Nowak added his third field goal of the game with 25 seconds left on the clock to seal the win for Assumption.
The Rams (2-2) jumped out to a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter after a 1-yard touchdown run by Xavier Martin. Assumption answered on the ensuing possession with a 7-yard touchdown pass from Kupec to David Canney.
The score was tied 17-17 at halftime as both teams added a field goal and a touchdown in the first half.
Canney had a career-high 16 catches for 163 yards for the Greyhounds.
