Bethune-Cookman defeats Morgan State 69-32
BALTIMORE — Andronicus Lovette scored three of Bethune-Cookman’s eight rushing touchdowns Saturday as the Wildcats rolled up 640 yards total offense in a 69-32 win over Morgan State.
Androse Bell rushed for two touchdowns as the Wildcats (4-0, 2-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) gained 366 yards on the ground. Matt Johnson completed 13 of 18 passes for 261 of Bethune-Cookman’s 274 yards passing.
Morgan State (2-3, 1-1), held to 247 yards total offense, got touchdowns from Tyrone Hendrix on a 93-yard kickoff return and Nico Scott on a 44-yard interception return and trailed 42-26 at halftime. But Ryan Lewis returned a fumble 33 yards for a touchdown a minute into the third quarter, and Bethune-Cookman went on to outscore the Bears 27-6 in the second half.
Isidore Jackson was the Wildcats’ leading rusher with 101 yards on 13 carries.
