Eachus leads Colgate over Georgetown 34-3
HAMILTON, N.Y. — Nate Eachus ran for 214 yards and four touchdowns on 44 carries to lead Colgate to a 34-3 rout over Georgetown on Saturday.
Eachus, a junior who came in fourth in rushing in the Football Championship Subdivision at 142 yards per game, scored on a 1-yard run 1:54 before halftime for the Raiders (2-2, 1-0 Patriot League) to break a 3-3 tie. Eachus carried 12 times on the 18-play, 90-yard drive, which consumed 9:05.
Eachus added touchdowns of 2, 1 and 3 yards in the second half, when the Hoyas (3-2, 2-1) fumbled the ball away twice and were outscored 21-0. Colgate controlled the ball for 40:39 and gained 430 yards to Georgetown’s 113.
Colgate quarterback Greg Sullivan completed 12 of 17 passes for 126 yards and carried 12 times for 49 yards.
Georgetown quarterbacks Isaiah Kempf (8-for-13) and Scott Darby (7-for-11) combined for 76 yards passing.
