Asian Games soft tennis: Indian challenge over

GUANGZHOU - India’s challenge in soft tennis ended after they lost both their mixed doubles first round matches at the Asian Games here Monday.

India’ Jitender Mehlda and Monica Murali Menon lost 3-5, 0-4, 3-5, 1-4, 1-4 to Japan’s Mai Sasaki and Hidenori Shinohara in 16 minutes.

Another Indian pair Mohammed Nasir and Taruka Srivastava lost to Chinese combo of Yang Jiao and Sisi Qiu 4-6, 2-4, 0-4, 4-2, 3-5, 1-4 in 25 minutes.
