ABU DHABI - Indian soccer captain Baichung Bhutia insists that his side holds no fear of the star-studded Socceroos ahead of their Asian Cup opener in Abu Dhabi.

Ranked 142nd in the world, under-performing India are being tipped to be easy-beats in a strong Group C, which also includes South Korea and Bahrain, the Courier Mail reports.

The clash with Australia will take place at the Al Sadd Stadium on Monday (early Tuesday Queensland time), and Bhutia believes his side can put up a decent fight in their first major international tournament in 27 years.

“It is a great feeling and exposure playing against some of the big names in world football and we know a lot about the well known players such as Harry Kewell and Tim Cahill,” Bhutia said.

“Australia is much higher than us in FIFA rankings, but we will not be intimidated by any team in the tournament,” he added. (ANI)
