NEW YORK - Ace striker Wayne Rooney’s younger brother John will be playing in America’s Major League Soccer.

MLS spokesman Will Kuhns said that John Rooney has already signed a contract with the league.

In US football, players’ contracts are with the league, rather than the individual club, Xinhua reports.

The 20-year-old forward, however, will have to take the MLS trials from January 7-11 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

John has played for Macclesfield Town in League Two and had trials in 2009 with Championship club Derby County. (ANI)
