New South Wales coach backs Hauritz’s Oz selection for World Cup

SYDNEY - Australia will be leaving behind one of its best-performed 50-over bowlers in the past two years should it overlook off-spinner Nathan Hauritz for next month’s World Cup in the Indian sub-continent, New South Wales coach Matthew Mott has said.
Hauritz has claimed 54 wickets at an average of 33 since the start of 2009.
Mott said that Hauritz has done everything right since his axing from Australia’s Test side before the start of the Ashes series.
“When you do make the decision to drop a player it’s critical to see how they respond. The way he’s responded to missing out is almost like the blueprint for how you want a player to come back,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Mott, as saying.
“That shows to me he’s a good player keen to get back in there,” he added. (ANI)
