MELBOURNE - World No. 5 Andy Murray crushed Spain’s Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in straight-sets to reach the fourth round of the Australian Open on Saturday.
Murray outclassed the 27-year-old 6-1, 6-1, 6-2 in less than 90 minutes on Rod Laver Arena.
The Scot managed 10 aces and broke eight times as he won a 15th match in Melbourne, and his second over 32nd ranked Garcia-Lopez.
“It was good, obviously, it was a quick match,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Murray, as saying.
“I served well and hit the ball clean from the back. I played well and he probably didn’t play his best. It was over quickly. But it was hot today, so it was nice to get off the court,” he added.
The 23-year-old will now take on either Austrian 11th seed Jurgen Melzer or 2006 finalist Marcos Baghdatis in Monday’s round of 16. (ANI)
