Suzuki’s hitting streak reaches 25 games

SEATTLE — Ichiro Suzuki has tied the Mariners’ team record by hitting safely in his 25th consecutive game.

Seattle’s eight-time All-Star lined a leadoff double against Rich Hill in the bottom of the first inning Monday night against Baltimore, one day after he had four hits at the Los Angeles Angels.

Suzuki’s streak equals his career high from 2007. It is his seventh hitting streak of at least 20 games since he arrived in Seattle for the 2001 season.

He has also reached base in 32 consecutive games, extending the longest streak in the American League this season.
