Rays’ Isringhausen leaves with elbow injury
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Tampa Bay Rays reliever Jason Isringhausen left Saturday night’s game against Washington with pain in his surgically repaired right elbow.
Isringhausen was hurt while making a pitch to pinch hitter Corey Patterson in the ninth inning. He underwent tests postgame, and the Rays said there would be more information available on the injury Sunday.
“There’s concern. I don’t know what level,” Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon said.
The 36-year-old Isringhausen had surgery on the elbow last September while with St. Louis. He signed a minor league contract with Tampa Bay on Feb. 20.
