Marlins place RHP Calero on 15-day DL, recall Wood

MIAMI — The Florida Marlins have placed right-hander Kiko Calero on the 15-day disabled list because of right shoulder inflammation.

The team recalled right-hander Tim Wood from Triple-A New Orleans on Sunday.

Calero has been a solid middle reliever this season, with a 2.01 earned run average in 31 1/3 innings.

This will be Wood’s second stint with the Marlins. He was with the club from June 4-6 but has yet to make a pitching appearance in the majors.
