Jays send Inglett to minors, recall Adams
WASHINGTON — The Toronto Blue Jays optioned outfielder Joe Inglett to Triple-A Las Vegas and recalled second baseman Russ Adams from the minors after Saturday night’s 5-3 loss to the Washington Nationals.
Inglett hit .167 with one RBI after being recalled from Las Vegas on May 22.
Adams was in Triple-A. He has not played for the Blue Jays this season, after appearing in 278 games for Toronto over the past four seasons. He’s a career .248 hitter with 17 home runs and 113 RBIs.
Manager Cito Gaston also said that right-hander Scott Richmond, who was called on in relief Saturday night after starting and winning Wednesday’s game in Philadelphia, would have his next start pushed back a day.
Rookie left-hander Brad Mills will make the June 23 start at home against Cincinnati that would have been Richmond’s. Richmond should be able to start June 24 against the Reds, Gaston said.
