Youngstown State beats Austin Peay 38-21
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Brandon Summers threw four touchdown passes and Na’eem Outler had two more as Youngstown State beat Austin Peay 38-21 on Saturday.
Summers was 17-for-24 passing with 232 yards, while Outler went 13 of 22 for 158 yards with one touchdown and an interception. Outler also ran for a score, and Kevin Smith led Youngstown State with 116 yards and a score on 20 carries.
The Penguins (1-1) trailed 14-3 in the second before Summer connected with Andy Colegrove on a 4-yard touchdown, which started a run of 21 straight points. Summers had touchdown passes of 20 and 18 yards to Donald Jones during the spree, pushing the Penguins out to a 31-14 lead after the third.
Summers capped the scoring for Youngstown State on a 16-yard touchdown pass to Dominique Barnes.
Trent Caffee passed for 158 yards, one touchdown and an interception for the Governors (1-1).
