Lenoir-Rhyne shuts out Davidson 42-0
DAVIDSON, N.C. — Andrew Courman ran for 140 yards and one touchdown and Byron Darby scored a 77-yard run to lead Lenoir-Rhyne to a 42-0 win over Davidson on Saturday.
Darby finished with 92 yards rushing on five carries for the Bears (2-1). Lenoir-Rhyne broke the game open on two big plays — Darby’s score and Courman’s 95-yard touchdown run to claim a 28-0 lead in the third quarter.
Justin Sanders added 55 yards on the ground on 12 carries, including a 2-yard rushing score for the Bears. Antwain Ross had a 9-yard touchdown run and Le’Quan McCorkle added a 2-yard TD. Mike Harold also scored on a 2-yard fumble recovery.
Davidson’s Michael Blanchard completed 13 of 31 passes for 190, threw three interceptions and was sacked four times. Kenny Mantuo led the Wildcats (0-2) with 83 yards rushing on 13 carries.
