Dean leads Arkansas-Pine Bluff past MVSU 27-7
ITTA BENA, Miss. — Mickey Dean rushed for two touchdowns and Arkansas-Pine Bluff forced five turnovers to beat Mississippi Valley State 27-7 on Saturday night.
Dean scored on runs of 1 and 19 yards to help the Golden Lions build a 20-0 lead through three quarters.
Rontrell Bailey passed for 211 yards and a touchdown for Arkansas-Pine Bluff (2-1, 1-0 Southwest Athletic Conference). He connected on a 61-yard touchdown with Ryan Farr in the fourth quarter.
The Golden Lions recovered two fumbles and intercepted Mississippi Valley State’s Paul Roberts three times. Roberts was sacked nine times.
The only score for the Delta Devils (0-2, 0-1) came in the fourth quarter when Roberts passed to Brandon Stargell for a 16-yard touchdown.
