Kirby’s 3 TD passes, 2 defensive scores lift Missouri State past Murray State 35-10

Missouri State dominates Murray State 35-10
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Cody Kirby threw three touchdown passes and the defense scored twice as Missouri State defeated Murray State 35-10 Saturday.
Kirby threw first-half touchdown passes of 8 yards to Cadarrius Dotson and 26 yards to Jermaine Saffold. He also connected with Wes Miller for 27 yards in the third quarter.
The Bears defense scored twice in the first half. The first came on a fumble recovery by Skylar Smith, who ran the ball back 55 yards, and the second by Waylon Richardet, who recovered Murray State quarterback Jeff Ehrhardt’s fumble in the end zone.
Missouri States offense ran up 392 yards, led by Kirby, who threw for 223 yards.
The Bears (2-1) led 28-3 at halftime.
Murray State (1-2) scored on a 35-yard pass from Ehrhardt to DeAngelo Nelson with 14:13 left to make it 35-10.
