Kansas State’s Banks returns 2 kickoffs for TDs
MANHATTAN, Kan. — Brandon Banks of Kansas State has become the 12th player in NCAA history to return two kickoffs for touchdowns in a game.
The 5-foot-7, 150-pound senior had a 93-yard return in the first quarter following a touchdown by Tennessee Tech. Then he caught the second-half kickoff on the Kansas State 8 and went 92 yards to tie the NCAA one-game record.
The last man to return two kickoffs for touchdowns was Brandon Breazell of UCLA on Dec. 30, 2005 against Northwestern — both on onside kicks.
Banks also had 98-yard kickoff return in 2008 against Nebraska.
