Youngstown State blanks Indiana State 28-0
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Youngstown State quarterback Brandon Summers threw two touchdown passes to lead the Penguins to a 28-0 victory against Indiana State in the Missouri Valley Football Conference opener for both teams.
Youngstown improved to 3-1 and 1-0, while the Sycamores dropped to 0-5 and 0-2 in their 31st consecutive loss.
Summers hit Dominique Barnes on a 36-yard scoring pass in the first quarter and Aaron Pitts on a 1-yarder in the fourth. Summers finished 21-for-33 for 194 yards. Barnes led the receivers with seven catches for 86 yards.
Also in the fourth, tailback Kevin Smith scored on a 21-yard run and linebacker Na’eem Outler returned an interception 37 yards for a touchdown.
