—Peyton Manning, Colts, was 31 of 41 for 353 yards in Indianapolis’ 34-17 win over Seattle, marking the first time he has topped 300 yards in four consecutive games.

—Eli Manning, Giants, threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns before leaving with a bruised heel as New York beat Kansas City 27-16.

—Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers, threw for 326 yards and two touchdowns in Pittsburgh’s 38-28 win over San Diego.

—David Garrard, Jaguars, threw for 323 yards and three touchdowns, two to Mike Sims-Walker, and Jacksonville dismantled the winless Tennessee Titans 37-17.

—Jay Cutler, Bears, threw two touchdown passes and ran for another to help Chicago beat the Detroit Lions 48-24.

—Robbie Gould, Bears, kicked two field goals, including a career-high 52-yarder, and had six extra points in Chicago’s 48-24 win over Detroit.

—Darren Sharper, Saints, returned one of his two interceptions a club-record 99 yards for a score as New Orleans remained undefeated with a 24-10 win over the New York Jets.

—Aqib Talib, Buccaneers, had three interceptions in Tampa Bay’s 16-13 loss at Washington.

—Cameron Wake, Dolphins, had his first three NFL sacks in Miami’s 38-10 victory over Buffalo.

—Champ Bailey, Broncos, knocked away the potential tying touchdown pass with 1 second left as Denver escaped with a 17-10 win over Dallas.

—Patrick Willis, 49ers, returned an interception 23 yards for a score in San Francisco’s 35-0 rout of the winless St. Louis Rams.

Peyton Manning set a franchise record by throwing for 300 or more yards in four consecutive games, going 31 of 41 for 353 yards in a 34-17 victory over Seattle. Manning connected with Reggie Wayne and joined Dan Marino as the only quarterbacks in league history to throw 55 TD passes to two different receivers. Manning also tied Fran Tarkenton for No. 3 on the NFL’s career list with 342, trailing only Marino (420) and Brett Favre (469).

Indianapolis stretched its regular-season winning streak to 13 with a 34-17 victory over Seattle on Sunday. … Buffalo’s 38-10 loss at Miami was its eighth straight against AFC East opponents. … New Orleans beat the New York Jets 24-10 to open a season with four straight wins for the first time since 1993. … St. Louis (0-4) lost its 14th straight, the longest skid in the NFL, with a 35-0 defeat at San Francisco.

Randy Moss’ 14-yard touchdown catch in New England’s 27-21 win over Baltimore on Sunday was his 137th, breaking a tie with Marshall Faulk and moving into sixth place in NFL history.

Miami’s 38-10 victory over Buffalo on Sunday was the Dolphins’ largest since Sept. 8, 2002. Miami also had 17 first downs rushing to none for the Bills. … San Francisco’s 35-0 win over St. Louis was its first shutout in 119 games since Jan. 6, 2002, 38-0 at New Orleans.

Houston allowed 165 yards of offense in its 29-6 victory over Oakland on Sunday, the Texans defense’s best performance since 2004. Houston’s NFL-worst defense held the Raiders to 45 yards rushing after allowing 205 yards rushing entering the game. The 165 yards Houston allowed was the second fewest in team history and the fewest since giving up 126 in a win over Jacksonville nearly five years ago.

San Francisco scored touchdowns via special teams, offense and defense in a 35-0 win over St. Louis on Sunday, accomplishing the feat for the first time since Nov. 10, 1997, in a 24-12 win at Philadelphia. It also marked the 49ers’ largest margin of victory since a 50-14 win over Arizona on Dec. 7, 2003.

With a chance to put together consecutive wins for the first time since 2007, the Detroit Lions hung in for a half before Chicago pulled away for a 48-24 victory Sunday. Detroit, which ended a 19-game losing streak last week, still hasn’t put together consecutive wins since a 6-2 start in 2007.

In his first loss as a pro, the Jets’ Mark Sanchez completed 14 of 27 passes for 138 yards, but turned the ball over four times on three interceptions — one returned 99 yards for a TD by Darren Sharper — and a fumble as New York fell 24-10 at New Orleans on Sunday.

Cleveland’s Shaun Rogers blocked an extra point that helped send it to overtime and also deflected a 23-yard field-goal attempt in the first quarter in the Browns’ 23-20 loss Sunday. Rogers has 13 career blocked field goals and two blocked PATs.

Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford, the No. 1 draft pick, twisted his right knee while being sacked in the fourth quarter of the Lions’ 48-24 loss at Chicago. He’ll undergo tests in Detroit. Receiver Calvin Johnson caught eight passes for 133 yards, but left late with a leg injury, the nature and severity not immediately known. … Giants quarterback Eli Manning bruised his heel in the fourth quarter of New York’s 27-16 win at Kansas City and left the game. … Baltimore lost left tackle Jared Gaither after a collision that put him on his back for about 10 minutes before he was taken off the field on a stretcher midway through the second quarter. X-rays at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he had tests on his neck and shoulder, were negative.
