Bowling Green scores late to beat Kent State 36-35

KENT, Ohio — Tyler Sheehan scored a 9-yard touchdown run with 5 seconds to go to lift Bowling Green past Kent State 36-35 on Saturday.

While Sheehan clinched the game on a run, he led the Falcons (2-4, 1-1 Mid-American) with his arm.

Sheehan was 44-for-63 with 505 yards, the most allowed by Kent State, and four touchdowns, setting school records for completions, attempts and passing yards.

Freddie Barnes set school records with 22 receptions and 278 receiving yards, and scored on catches of 2, 8 and 45 yards.

Bowling Green trailed 35-23 with 12:08 left to play before scoring twice in the final 4:29.

Barnes cut the lead to 35-30 on a 45-yard touchdown catch from Sheehan.

Jacquise Terry led the Golden Flashes (2-4, 1-1) with 81 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries.
