Derrick Fourroux catches a 5-yard TD to give McNeese a 36-35 win over Southeastern Louisiana

McNeese State edges Southeastern Louisiana 36-35

LAKE CHARLES, La. — Derrick Fourroux caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Richard Conner with 40 seconds to go and McNeese State defeated Southeastern Louisiana 36-35 on Saturday night.

Fourroux was 21 of 36 with 268 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 67 yards on 13 carries.

The Cowboys (5-2, 2-1 Southland Conference) trailed 35-24 at the end of the third quarter before putting together two long scoring drives.

Jarvis Murray capped an eight-play 73-yard drive on a 2-yard TD run to pull McNeese State within 35-30 with 12:27 left to play.

The Cowboys fumbled on their next drive, but a 38-yard field goal attempt by the Lions (4-3, 2-1) went wide left and McNeese State took over on its 22. The Cowboys went 78 yards before Conner caught the winning TD.

Brian Babin was 23 of 37 with 250 yards, three touchdowns passing, another rushing and three interceptions for Southeastern Louisiana.
