Tennessee-Martin beats Murray State 38-24
MARTIN, Tenn. — Cade Thompson threw two touchdowns and Tennessee-Martin beat Murray State 38-24 on Saturday.
The win broke a three-game losing streak for the Skyhawks (3-5, 2-3 Ohio Valley Conference).
Thompson went 13-for-20 for 254 yards, including a 73-yard touchdown pass to Jason McNair and a 19-yarder to Stephen Shiver. Thompson did not throw an interception after throwing 10 interceptions in the past three games.
Miguel Barnes, who had 125 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries, broke a 24-24 tie with a 10-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Brandyn Young, who had 99 yards on 23 carries, sealed the win with a 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
The Racers (2-5, 1-3) were led by Nico Yantko, who went 18-for-28 for 156 yards. He threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Ja-Vonta Trotter and a 26-yard touchdown pass to Patrick Robinson in the first half.
