Grambling State tops Mississippi Valley State 50-7
GRAMBLING, La. — Greg Dillon threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more scores as Grambling State routed Mississippi Valley State 50-7 on Saturday.
Dillon rushed 24 times for 96 yards and was 17-for-25 for 141 yards with one interception. He threw scoring passes of 9 yards to Van Phillips and 3 yards to Larry Donnell, and ran for touchdowns of 20 and 9 yards.
Ari Johnson kicked field goals of 22, 33 and 17 yards in the first half for Grambling (5-3, 4-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) to help the Tigers take a 22-0 halftime lead.
Trailing 36-0, Mississippi Valley State quarterback Eddie Ivery Jr. threw a 68-yard touchdown pass to Chris Williams with 13:52 left in the game. Ivery was 4-for-10 for 98 yards.
The Tigers rolled up 446 yards of total offense compared to 145 for the Delta Devils (2-6, 1-5). Grambling had 24 first downs while Mississippi Valley State had only six.
