Winfield says he’s out for Detroit game
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Minnesota Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield says his injured right foot still isn’t quite ready and he will not play against Detroit on Sunday.
The Pro Bowler has missed the last two games and was hoping to be ready coming off the bye week. He practiced in full gear all week but says he still feels pain when he cuts on the foot.
Winfield says he expects to be ready next week against Seattle.
Winfield says he doesn’t want to rush back and risk further injury that would keep him out longer.
He says sitting has been easier with the Vikings winning. The Vikings are 7-1 with a comfortable lead over Green Bay and Chicago in the NFC North.
