N.C. Central beats Winston-Salem State 18-10
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Michael Johnson threw a touchdown pass as North Carolina Central rallied to beat Winston-Salem State 18-10 on Saturday.
Johnson threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Sae Abdul-Azeez in the third quarter to put the Eagles ahead 15-10 with 55 seconds left in the third quarter. Johnson went 10-for-21 for 122 yards and an interception.
The Eagles (3-7) added a 26-yard field goal by Frankie Cardell in the fourth quarter for the final margin. Tim Shankle scored on a 5-yard run in the second quarter to give the Eagles a 9-7 lead.
The Rams (1-9), a Division II team, took a 10-9 minutes later on an 11-yard pass from Branden Williams to Omar Kizzie. Williams went 8-for-24 passing for 52 yards and two interceptions.
The Rams have lost three games in a row by a total of 14 points.
