Olawale’s 2 second-half TDs propel Columbia to a 30-20 comeback win over Cornell

ITHACA, N.Y. — Columbia quarterback M.A. Olawale ran for two touchdowns in the second half, sparking the Lions to a 30-20 win over Cornell on Saturday.

Trailing 20-16 at halftime, Olawale ran it in from a yard out with just over a minute to play in the third quarter to give Columbia (3-6, 2-4 Ivy League) a 23-20 advantage. His 19-yard touchdown scamper with 1:51 to go in the fourth sealed the win for the Lions.

Olawale was 9-for-11 with 68 yards and added 95 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 11 carries. Zack Kourouma had 105 yards on the ground and a score on 11 carries for the Lions.

Kourouma had an 80-yard TD run and Sean Brackett ran it in from 4 yards out in the first quarter for the Lions.

Ben Ganter threw touchdown passes of 12 and 32 yards to Bryan Walters in the first half for Cornell (2-7, 1-5).

Ganter finished with 144 yards with two TDs and five interceptions.
