Smith’s career-high 239 yards, 3 TDs lead Bryant to 35-12 victory over St. Francis

Bryant rolls past St. Francis 35-12
SMITHFIELD, R.I. — Jerell Smith rushed for a career-high 239 yards and three touchdowns to lead Bryant to a 35-12 victory over St. Francis (Pa.) on Saturday, snapping a five-game losing streak.
Bryant (4-6, 3-4 Northeast Conference) scored on its first three possessions, two touchdowns coming on scoring runs by Smith, a senior.
Smith scored on a 23-yard run on the Bulldogs’ opening drive, and after a fumble, he scored on a 20-yard run to give Bryant a 14-0 lead with 10:02 remaining in the first quarter.
Kyle Harbridge’s 62-yard touchdown run cut the lead to 14-7 with 9:37 left in the first quarter, but Bryant’s Michael Croce threw two touchdown passes and Smith scored on a 77-yard run in the second quarter as the Bulldogs took a 35-12 lead into halftime.
Bryant had 392 yards of offense and held the Red Flash (2-7, 1-6) to 133 yards.
Harbridge finished with 114 yards rushing.
