Furman knocks off Georgia Southern 30-22
STATESBORO, Ga. — Jordan Sorrells threw for 244 yards and Furman scored two touchdowns as Furman defeated Georgia Southern 30-22 on Saturday.
The Paladins (5-5, 4-3 Southern Conference), who snapped a three-game losing streak, took a 7-0 lead on Tersoo Uhaa’s 16-yard run with 9:17 left in the first quarter. Ryan Steed’s 44-yard interception return for a score gave Furman a 14-0 advantage midway through the first quarter.
The defeat assured the Eagles (4-6, 3-4) of a losing season for only the third time since football resumed in 1982.

The Paladins, who entered the game with the worst defense in the conference, limited the Eagles to 367 yards, nearly 100 yards less than their average.
