Young returns kickoff 100 yds. for No. 6 BSU
BOISE, Idaho — Titus Young returned kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown in Boise State’s game against Idaho.
He actually ran a bit farther than that. Trey Farquhar’s kickoff for Idaho soared seven yards deep into the end zone just before halftime. Young appeared ready to concede a touchback, but teammate Doug Martin urged him to run it out.
Young then sprinted untouched down the right sideline. Martin threw a crunching block and Winston Venable leveled Farquhar at the Idaho 40 to wipe out the Vandals’ last chance at a tackle.
The 100-yard return tied a Boise State record set by John Broadous in 1981, also against Idaho.
Young’s record-tying runback put the Broncos up 42-17 at the break.
