Webber International defeats Savannah State 35-20
SAVANNAH, Ga. — Torrence Moise threw four touchdown passes to lead Webber International to a 35-20 win over Savannah State on Saturday.
Moise was 15-for-27 with 276 passing yards, and rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown for the Warriors (4-6). Receiver Jamal Rodman had nine receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns.
Moise’s 20-yard touchdown pass to Rodman gave the Warriors a 14-10 lead with 4:49 left in the first half, putting them up for good. Savannah State’s Derek Williams made a 29-yard field goal to make the score 14-13, but Moise responded with an 11-yard touchdown pass to Rodman with 15 seconds left in the second quarter to give the Warriors a 21-13 halftime lead.
The Tigers (2-7) were paced by quarterback Kurvin Curry, who completed 18 of 35 pass attempts for two touchdowns and two interceptions.
