Gush’s late TD reception gives Stony Brook 36-33 win over Liberty, share of Big South title

Stony Brook edges Liberty 36-33
STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Jordan Gush caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Michael Coulter with 30 seconds remaining to lead Stony Brook to a 36-33 victory over Liberty and a share of the Big South title on Saturday.
Coulter set up the touchdown pass with a 64-yard completion to Gush, who finished with three catches for 88 yards.
Stony Brook’s winning touchdown came just 25 seconds after Liberty took a 33-29 lead on Tommy Beecher’s 7-yard pass to Dominique Jones with 55 seconds left in the game.
Edwin Gowins rushed for 165 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries for the Seawolves (6-5, 5-1), who won three of their final four games. Conte Cuttino added 89 yards and a score on 21 carries.
Beecher was 24 of 38 for 220 yards and two touchdowns for the Flames (8-3, 5-1).
Liberty’s Mike Brown rushed for 99 yards on seven carries, including a 70-yard touchdown run.
