Archer rushes for 2 TDs as William & Mary routs Weber State 38-0, advance in FCS playoffs

William & Mary beats Weber State 38-0
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — R.J. Archer ran for two scores and William & Mary returned two interceptions for touchdowns in a 38-0 win over Weber State on Saturday in the first round of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.
The Tribe (10-2), who will face Southern Illinois (11-1) in the FCS quarterfinals on Dec. 5, intercepted four passes while holding the Wildcats (7-5) to 161 yards of total offense.
Jake Trantin gave the Tribe a 7-0 lead by intercepting a Cameron Higgins pass and returning it 60 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. B.W. Webb returned an interception 58 yards for a touchdown and the Tribe led 17-0 at halftime.
Archer scored on runs of 1 and 6 yards in the second half as the lead grew to 31-0. Jonathan Grimes led the Tribe with 139 yards rushing on 23 carries.
Higgins went 21-for-40 passing for 167 yards for the Wildcats.
