Ryan misses practice but says he’s feeling better
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Atlanta coach Mike Smith says Matt Ryan has not had a setback in his recovery from a turf toe injury, even though the Falcons quarterback was held out of practice.
Smith says the plan all week was for Ryan to participate only in Wednesday’s early walkthrough session as the team continues to treat the injury to his right big toe with caution.
Ryan returned after missing two games to lead the Falcons to a win at the New York Jets on Sunday. He had some soreness Monday but says he’s feeling “a little better” each day.
Smith says Ryan may return to practice on Thursday as the Falcons prepare for this week’s game against the Buffalo Bills.
