Alabama’s McClain suits up for Tide after illness
PASADENA, Calif. — Alabama linebacker Rolando McClain was in uniform for the Crimson Tide during pregame warmups after overcoming a stomach virus.
McClain received a big cheer from Tide fans when he was announced on the video screen in the starting lineup Thursday night against No. 2 Texas in the BCS championship game.
The All-American and Butkus Award winner missed the media day on Tuesday and was limited in practice that day.
McClain is the key figure in Alabama’s defense. He’s not only the leading tackler but also the on-the-field coach, directing his teammates where to line up.
