LONDON - Former Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink has suggested that he could return to Premier League next season after it was revealed that revealed that he would quit as Russia coach in the summer.

“The RFU expresses sincere gratitude for the great and work Guus has done as the head coach of Russia,” News of the World quoted the Russian federation, as saying in a statement.

“Hiddink is a true professional and will work until the end of his current contract and devote the remaining time for the benefit of Russian football. The sporting achievements of Guus have been significant,” he added.

The move has been anticipated for some time after he failed to steer Russia to the World Cup finals.

The Dutchman, 63, enjoyed his first experience of English club management last season, when he led Chelsea to the FA Cup.

A return to Stamford Bridge as manager seems unlikely but Hiddink would be near the top of the list for any other club seeking a new boss. (ANI)
