Chris Leben Crushes Aaron Simpson

LAS VEGAS (GaeaTimes.com)- Chris Leben proved himself the ultimate brawler again by taking out Aaron Simpson with a Technical Knockout in the second round of the TUF 11 Finale at Las Vegas. The two fighters faced off for the first time and Aaron Simpson had his undefeated run broken by gatekeeper Chris Leben.

The first round started off with Aaron Simpson quite a number of punches on Chris Leben. With Chris Leben swinging wildly, Aaron Simpson clinched him and landed him a knee. The undefeated wrestler tried a number of take-downs before the end of the round. Chris Leben however landed his power punches well in the round that ensured some battering of the charged up Aaron Simpson. In the second round the tables turned quickly as Aaron Simpson looked trapped by the cage. Chris Leben attacked fiercely during the exchanges and sent Aaron Simpson to his knees with time left for the round to end. He then used a number of quick left hands to the head, hard enough to send the already tiring Aaron Simpson staggering to the other end of the cage and collapse again. With less than a minute left to go in the round the referee intervened to stop the match.

After the match Chris Leben said that he wanted to avoid wrestling with Aaron Simpson and knew that he had a powerful start. His strategy was to pass through the first rounds when Aaron Simpson was in full flow and then attack in the second or third round. This was Chris Leben’s second consecutive victory in the tournament.
