RUSTENBURG - The England team will go into Sundays’ World Cup knock-out game against Germany wearing their “lucky” all-red strip.

Steven Gerrard will lead his side out in the red tops, shorts and socks, which the side wore in their ‘do-or-die’ Group C game against Slovenia, The Mirror reports.

An in-depth statistical analysis reveals that England has won four times out of five when they have played all in red, and the tops also stir memories of the Three Lions’ victory over West Germany in the 1966 final, the paper said.

FIFA are expecting 20,000 Brits as well as 20,000 Germans in Bloemfontein’s 45,000-seater Free State stadium. (ANI)
