Kaye Cowher Looses Battle With Cancer

PITTSBURGH (GaeaTimes.com)- Kaye Cowher, wife of CBS football analyst and former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher, lost her battle with skin cancer and breathed her last on Friday. The news of the sad demise of Kaye Cowher was confirmed by both the Pittsburgh Steelers president Arthur J. Rooney II and by Bill Cowher himself on Saturday. She died aged 54 and is survived by her husband Bill Cowher and three daughters, Lauren, Megan and Lindsay.
On Saturday, Bill Cowher confirmed the news of the death of his wife in a public statement. In the statement, the bereaved husband remembered his late wife as the foundation of the couple’s family and as a “loving and compassionate person” whose absence will be missed dearly. He added that Kaye Cowher was one of the persons who have always been beside him along the walk of his life as a player, coach and NFL analyst. Bill Cowher said on behalf of his family that Kaye Cowher was like the “rock” of the family on which all could lean on during tough times. The player also expressed his thanks to everyone “who has kept our [their] family in their thoughts and prayers”. He also thanked all those people who have reached out to extend their condolence message to the family which had lost one of its dearest members. Bill Cowher said that the hoard of condolence messages prove that Kaye Cowher had “touched a lot of lives” during her life-time.
The same thoughts were reiterated by Pittsburgh Steelers president Arthur J. Rooney II who said that Kaye Cowher had made many friends in the organization and community of Pittsburgh Steelers. The president added at the same time that she will be missed dearly by the Pittsburgh Steelers’ community.
